The Tasting Days in Numbers: 2 months, 13 cities, and 4,500 tastings
Three European Rice Tasting Days tours, in France, Italy and Portugal, are already on the table for 2023
On June 29th, 2022, the first stage of our itinerant Tasting Days came to a close, having visited, over two months, 13 cities right across Germany, to conquer the palates of consumers with as many as 4,500 tastings of European rice.
Our food truck travelled from north to south, and east to west, allowing our on-board chefs to propose to the general public typical dishes from the three major rice producing countries of the European Union: Riso allo Zafferano (Saffron Rice) for Italy, Riz au Lait (Rice Pudding) for France, and Arroz de Marisco (Seafood Rice) for Portugal. In doing so, they demonstrated just how versatile rice can be.
During the tastings, the German public was able to satisfy its curiosities about the Sustainable EU Rice – Don’t Think Twice project, and hear the answers of our staff to the many questions put forward on the production and sustainability of European rice. Three Tasting Days tours, including stops in the major cities of France, Italy and Portugal, are already on the table for 2023. More great opportunities to taste and learn to recognize delicious, excellent quality, healthy, safe and environmentally friendly rice.
